Accessing our site

Our site is accessed by car or minibus along a milelong private drive leading through the Bigsweir Estate from the A466 at Bigsweir Bridge. Coach parties will need to alight before entering the private drive and proceed on foot to the site.

Keeping to the right at the fork in the drive, proceed past Bigsweir House on your left then continue alongside the river, then between two white posts and up the slope past Prospect Cottage, turning sharp left onto the Polish Scouts House site. There are two passing places on the riverside stretch and one at the top of the hill near the entry to our site.

For the comfort and safety of neighbours, walkers and horse riders using the drive, please adhere to the 10mph speed limit and please do not stop or park anywhere along the drive.

From St. Briavels Village our site can only be accessed by cycle or on foot via the Hudnalls Loop Road then down a steep track on the east of the site.

If you are using a Sat Nav for your visit to locate the Polish Scouts House please use postcode GL15 6RR.

Ecology and the Environment

We share our site with the wildlife of the Wye Valley including a number of protected species. Whilst making use of the site we aim to minimise our impact on the sustainability of its ecology and environment as much as possible. We have an ongoing programme of tree planting with the aim of replacing all non-native species over time. Our site management policies are directed to this objective.

Domestic Animals

Domestic animals, except assistance dogs, are not allowed on the site.

Fires

Camp Fires are permitted in designated areas. Please confirm location and fuel supplies with the Warden.

Waste management

We have limited capability to dispose of waste generated on site. We ask all users to prepare a Waste Reduction Plan to be applied during your visit. We can deal with compostable waste on site but all other types of waste must be kept to a minimum.
